Ferm and Tee declared 2016 the “Year of the Mother” in an effort to encourage moms to be kinder to one another and themselves. They are spending the year challenging moms to tell each other that they are awesome (they pass out handfuls of free “mom karma” cards at the show) and join together and declare as a group that raising humans is hard, but easier when parents support each other. Check out their Instagram page to see how their #BandOfMothers movement is bringing moms together.
Disclosure: I received the tickets to giveaway for this event.
Since 2012, The Pump and Dump show has given moms the perfect reason to gather their #BREEDER friends, celebrate a mom-to-be, or even treat an exhausted girlfriend to her first night out postpartum. Original music includes songs like “Eat Your F-ing Food” and “When I Die, I Want to Come Back as a Dad.” Audience members play one of a kind games like “Stump the Breeder” and “The Most F-ed Up Thing Your Kid Did This Week”, to win bottles of wine and other fantastic prizes from local and national sponsors. Shows sell out weeks – even months – in advance, proving that The Pump and Dump show is THE most sought after moms’ night out.
“We don’t bash our kids. We don’t bash our husbands,” says Tracey Tee. “But we get to be the jerks on stage. We’re the ones saying the things you think during the day but never say out loud. There’s a lot of laughing about sex and poop and throw-up; you can get it out of your system and go back to being a great parent.”
