Safety at Sea Seminar on February 23rd and 24th at The Mariners’ Museum
Saturday and Sunday, February 23 and 24, The Mariners’ Museum will host a seminar for both beginning and expert mariners.
Feb. 23, from 8:30 AM – 4 PM, the seminar will be held, covering topics such as Damage Control, Coast Guard Rescue Procedures, Crew Overboard, First Aid and Life Raft Demonstrations. The moderator is sailor and instructor Captain Henry Marx. Marx is the owner and president of Landfall Navigation, and has more than 40 years of sailing experience on both coasts of the United States, the North Sea and the Caribbean. Marx will be accompanied by a Safety at Sea expert panel. Fee for the seminar is $75 for non-members or $65 for Mariners’ Museum Members, and covers lectures, demonstrations, course materials and a boxed lunch.
A junior program will be offered on Feb. 24, from Noon to 5 PM, for junior sailors 12 and older. The junior program is $35 for non-members and $25 for Mariners’ Members. Registration is now open and seating is limited. Register online at MarinersMuseum.org/safety-at-sea.
